Become a CATA Sustaining Donor and Stand with Immigrant Families and Workers

Have you ever seen what is happening to immigrant families and workers and wondered, “How can I help?”

Becoming a sustaining donor of CATA is one meaningful way to take action.

Monthly donations help us defend workers’ rights, respond when immigrant families need support, provide fresh and culturally relevant food, and share trusted information through RadioCATA.

As sustaining donor Tony shares, “We may not be able to do everything, but we can do something.”

Read our latest blog to learn how sustaining donors like Ashford, Francine, and Tony are turning their concern into action.

A monthly gift of any amount helps CATA continue showing up for our communities when they need us most.

No One Should Face Fear Alone: My Work with CATA’s Rapid Response Team

“I will never forget that day in December.”

Marisol Soriano Cruz witnessed immigration agents detain a man who had simply stopped to buy a drink before work. She stayed by his side, helped identify him so his family could be contacted, and offered comfort during a frightening and confusing moment.

In her new blog, Marisol reflects on her work with CATA’s Rapid Response Team. She verifies reports of immigration enforcement, shares reliable information, connects families with resources, and helps community members understand their rights.

She also shares why she brought her son to speak at a Bridgeton City Council meeting and how that experience showed him the power of using his voice.

Connecting Culture and Community: Introducing Our Farm-Fresh Produce Subscription Program (CSA)

An innovative and affordable farm-fresh produce subscription can offer more than food. It can also provide culturally relevant products and recipes for preparing them.

CATA recently completed a unique Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) pilot designed around the cultures, traditions, and preferences of the community we serve.

Over 10 weeks, 13 participants received weekly shares of 8 to 12 pounds of fresh produce and provided valuable feedback that will help us strengthen and expand the program next year.

This pilot demonstrated how organizations can partner with local farmers to increase access to fresh food while honoring the cultures of their communities.
