COVID has highlighted many inequities in our US society. Immigrants were especially vulnerable to the loss of jobs, lack of adequate access to health care, and disproportionately high number of positive cases and deaths for Latinx and persons. Hear stories of real people affected and what is needed to address prejudice towards immigrants and inequities in our systems and learn about work and policies to fix the US immigration system. A Q&A session will follow this. "With the change of administration in Washington DC, real change for the immigrant community feels possible for the first time in many years. However, we must be wary of false solutions that don't recognize the important contributions that immigrants have made - especially during this pandemic - and must fight for the best solution possible for our friends and neighbors," said Jessica Culley, CATA's General Coordinator. So, please grab a coffee and join us for this critical conversation and become part of the solution. This event will be live via Zoom. All are welcome to attend. Only those who register will receive the ZOOM event link. There is limited space. |
